Pupils and Staff at The E-ACT Burnham Park Academy were delighted to welcome visitors from across our community to take part in our World War 1 Week of Remembrance.

The Theme for the week was “What Remembrance Means to Me” and students produced a variety of projects including a display of bright red poppies, poetry and readings. Year Group Assemblies were taken by Year 9 students throughout the week and included their own views on remembrance.  On Tuesday we joined with others throughout the UK in a two minutes silence - our own community act of remembrance.

A multi faith assembly took place with representatives from across the community including:

  • The Burnham branch of The Royal British Legion
  • The Ahmayidda Muslim Association of Slough
  • SGi Buddhists from Taplow
  • St Peters Church  Burnham

The guests gave their views of what remembrance meant to them. The presentations were enlightening and the students present were enthralled. We are pleased to reproduce the presentations for you to read and thank the contributors for allowing us to include them on our web site.
