We have been busy at BPA!

We were very pleased to see so many parents attend the terms Parents Evenings. We trust you found them helpful and informative. Do discuss targets and progress with your child and keep up to date with homework on eSchool.

Year 9 and their families attended the Options Evening to help them make the right choices for   Year 10 GCSE’s.  Department staff were on hand to outline the courses on offer and to help students understand where their choices could lead both in the Sixth Form and beyond.

We’ve had a number of visitors to the Academy:

  • Joan Salter from Holocaust Survivors talked to a captivated audience from across the Year groups. The students listened attentively as Joan described her experience; there were lots of enlightened questions from the students.

  • We hosted the latest BHPT community event looking at ‘THE BOX’; the plans were outlined for us to help others whilst others help us.  What could you offer?

  • Three members of Founders4schools entrepreneurs spoke to Year 9 about what success looks like followed by various enrichment activities to help raise aspiration.

  • Students from our Feeder Primary Schools visited with their families and heard about life at BPA with presentations from our current Year 7’s and staff. After the success of last year’s Summer School lots of students signed up for this year’s Summer School in August. Everyone is looking forward to the taster day in July with a record number of new students expected to join us in Year 7 this September.

  • We are fortunate to have good sports facilities at BPA which we are happy to share with the local community. Every night and at weekends we see local sports club on site playing football, gym club, basketball, archery and junior football & basketball.

Our final assemblies of the term saw students with 100% attendance receive prizes. Well done all of you!
