Our sports teams have been competing in matches across both Bucks and Slough with a number of successes in Football, Rugby and Rowing - in February we took a number of students to the Indoor School Rowing Championships held at Beaconsfield School. Each student put in 100% with our top performer being George Glynn - Well done!

We are been out and about enjoying learning outside the classroom adding to our knowledge and skills.

  • Cadburys’ World welcomed our Year 10 business students who learnt a lot from the Cadbury family business ethics - did you know that Cadbury’s offered their staff social housing with a garden as early as 1879.

  • Our Year 10 Biology students enjoyed a day outside at Marwell Zoo where they attended a number of workshops bringing biology to life,  watching the tigers having lunch was without doubt the highlight of the day.

  • Year 9 went off to Bucks New University to see university life first hand. They toured the newly refurbished site and attended lectures, listening to current University students allowed them to hear about Uni life and how it differed from school.

  • A visit to Mercedes Benz at Slough was a real eye opener for a group of our Year 10 Students. Two students have applied for apprenteships with this prestigious car manufacturer so watch this space to see how they get on.

  • The Sixth Form have attended a number of Lectures/Workshops to enhance their study including traveling to Greenwich where they considered ideas about sampling, variation, classification and biodiversity and then went on to  investigate diverse habitats, developing investigation and fieldwork skills.

  • We’ve been to the theatre to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and came back not only enthralled by the drama but the staging and costumes created a lot of discussion – it was very clever!.

  • Year 10 & 11 found the visit to the poetry workshop thought provoking, enabling them to think about poetry in a new way.

  • Mrs Mulhern , Dr Johnson and Mrs Yesmin took a group of students on a r cultural visit to Paris, the students had an amazing experience and came back having seen all the sights, eaten lots of tasty French cuisine, practiced their French and spent a number of Euros on beautiful French clothing and memorabilia.

  • The students studying construction are making regular visits to the Bishops Centre as guests of Land Securities and the construction company to see their study come to life as the structure grows!

  • Year 7 and 8 students visited the Slough Aspire Centre to look at the history of the Slough Trading Estate. Working with students from BGS the group produced a new board game.

  • Students attended the Peace Conference in Slough celebrating the diversity of the area. Our students were confident representative for BPA.

  • Our Sixth Form Performing Arts Students performed their exam pieces at the Academy and then went ‘on tour’ to the local Primary schools were the children enjoyed not only the performances but also the drama workshops taught by our students – a delightful book of ‘Thank You’ letters from the children makes very happy reading.
